From a storytellers angle, Troublina is powerful mojo.

She plays the Jerry Lewis to our everyday Dean Martin heroines, but she does it in a female way which makes it even more potent. She can be very vulnerable and very whacky, without the Jim Carrey crazy vibe, all at the same time. And her female vulnerability makes other heroines let down their guards and open themselves to also be more open and vulnerable than they'd usually be.

Everytime I tried to think of a way to give her powers or change her, it seemed to diminish her fictional power to get other heroines to reveal their own character - which is what she's really good at. She can hang out with Milly or Valient Grrl or Sphjynx and to Troublina it's all the same. The lines are grey with her. She can hang out with mischievous Sphynx and be curious where Sphynx will lead her. Or she can follow Tabby around campus all day. Mynx is a bit too 'control freak' for Troublina but she could hang with Bronk or Preston Prescott.

I love your guys idea that she has some kind of powers that cause bad luck in others - ha ha. Maybe she has a bad luck aura that emanates from her. It doesn't affect her but if someone's with her... if they're trying to be quiet, they knock over the pile of trash cans that wakes up the neighborhood. That kind of thing - that's great.

I'm gonna be gone for a week at my Sisters. My parents know I make porn. But my siblings are more puritan ( fucking Cromwell ) than my parents and they don't know. So this limits my ability to visit this forum without getting busted and causing a big family blow up :P

So, I'll be away for a week from this forum.

Here's what I suggest we consider.

1 - How will this story end?
2 - How will the ending leave it open to lead into new stories? Is that important to us? Maybe this story just ends and that's it?
3 - What character has 'the revelation' ? Luke Skywalker has the revelation that Darth Vader is his father. In our porn superheroine stuff it's usually the main villain who has the revelation. In Love Nest, it's Condora who has the revelation that she has all the spygirl's names at the end when she thought she had lost it all. With Max Indeks stories... max usually has the revelation. Will we have a revelation character? This character makes the story connect long-term with readers. makes them remember the story. The genius of Dr Robo stories is Dr Twisted is usually the revelation character. He's also usually the only character who is growing and changing as a character. In porn that's pretty genius. Because he started as a villain and must now constantly prove that he's growing and not going retrograde. Awesome character. But maybe that deep story aspect is something we don't care about?
4 - How many characters do we want involved? If they aren't Finister characters we'll have to ask the other creators to use their characters. Most creators are flattered to have their characters used... but you have to know those characters and their ticks, etc.
5 - Do we try to add sex/erotica to each chapter? I will defer to you hypno/MC folks on this. But if this story goes on for 10 chapters with no sexo... I'll direct reader comments to you guys - ha ha - lotza luv.
6 - Will Finister make lists of everything or is this going to drive us nuts and it's better if we all just wing this story and just enjoy making it whether it connects with readers or not? Funny question, but real question :P

See you cartoon villains in a week

Regarding Troublina, I agree that if she gets any powers it needs to be handled in a way that won't adversely impact what is good about her. I think that is why I liked her getting a subtle power like a bad luck field or similar. It is something that could be argued she always had but possibly wasn't aware of and probably had no control over. This could explain why she is a loner/has no real strong attachments, she couldn't really make connections because people around her were impacted by the bad luck and that impacted her ability to interact with them for any period of time (and then there is the subconscious first impression factor). It is similar to Crissy in a way but more pervasive and oriented around the everyday people and not just heroines that could realistically be responsible for a lot of things (no offense but Crissy's drama really was a first world problem kind of thing lol).

Okay so if she has this bad luck field, how does that get developed. If she gains the ability to manipulate it it has to come at a cost of some sort (otherwise it becomes essentially the most powerful ability in the universe). Okay so with the premise that the default state for this field around her is that she is like the eye of a hurricane. The bad luck hits everything around her but she herself is immune (you could also eventually build in that anyone who is extremely close to her from an emotional sense and not just a physical one is also immune... this could add in a bunch of cool drama moments later on if she ever actually gets close to someone). So if she can control it what if it disrupts the field and results in bad luck turbulence so to speak. So after she does this for a period of time she gets minor bad luck (things like tripping over things, wearing mismatched socks, other funny stuff like that). Being Troublina that should be sufficient to keep her from manipulating the field too often because after all, she has survived solo all this time by just being a walking bad luck hurricane. This would give impact to any self-sacrifice moments she does because it isn't just her not being selfish it actively is going to hurt her down the line.

Other ways to potentially develop it out later would also be if she eventually becomes close enough to the squad (for instance wanting to be close to Kitten or anyone else she gets close to) she could gain the ability to temporarily invert the field. So minor bad luck to her and everyone else is immune. Unlike the manipulating the field there is no future repercussions (because she is getting them in the present). So it is a more advanced form of her power. So this would let her fit in better with the squad but she would suddenly become a klutz while just hanging out with them in the headquarters (bonus points if no one or very few know about why it happens so she gets a reputation as a klutz like how Snowflake has a rep as an airhead even though that isn't true either). Further development could be if you run with the people close to her also share her eye of the storm space would be that say if Kitten (for the sake of argument here) actually gets really close to her would share the same consequences whether it be the field manipulation or field inversion. So as her character develops into less of a loner because she is making friends her very existence and life keeps finding more ways to push her back to her current state/life. It is effectively a way to keep the character relatively static but at the same time grow her motives. A built in negative feedback loop, if you will.

Also, if Honeydoll is her mentor and figures all this out it would be interesting to explore why she would keep this from everyone else. Maybe she saw what happened to Crissy (assumption being that she ran away or something since people don't know she is Chrome) and doesn't want to see that happen again. She would know that Troublina would run if she had to confront the problem head on all at once. This would make Honeydoll a super cool character and would fit with her sort of white knight persona while keeping her from being 100% pure by giving her essentially a choice with no correct answer.

With that done I'll be making a post with respect to the questions in a bit (this post is way too long as is).

Great list btw. This is a good way to organize trying to idea things collaboratively. The only thing we could do that would make this easier would be using a google doc or something so it would be easier to organize and edit. But this is cool regardless (I take any chance to screw around with these ideas lol... I don't even care if I ever see my ideas come to be, I just get a kick trying to figure out how the characters you all created work :) ).

1 - How will this story end?
Obviously a reset of some sort. In other words, most or all of the swarm sisters will be freed. I could be cool if there were some secret swarm sisters (heroines even) but it isn't really necessary as long as the Queen (or whatever made her) still exists and is out there. I think the most important part of the ending is it gives a chance to fill out some characters in the continuity a bit. Troublina being better integrated into the squad and Honeydoll becoming a legit mentor with flaws (after what happened to her previous student Synapse and you could retcon her in to being important to Crissy too) are the main examples from my previous post. Milly becoming more confident and giving her drive to save the universe in her own nerdy way would be cool too.

2 - How will the ending leave it open to lead into new stories? Is that important to us? Maybe this story just ends and that's it?
Troublina effectively gets her power (could be the bad luck field or whatever) and starts to buy into working with the squad even if she is still a bit skeptical. Essentially starting the next chapter for the character is what I see as being the main thing that will help bridge new and old Troublina (so this should have to happen relatively late in the Metrobay timeline since for most stories she is her old solo troublemaker self). It doesn't necessarily need to define the character (since she is actually pretty well defined) but it would great if it provided a framework for the her growth as a character as Metrobay completes the Drone Agenda era and continues into new stories with new challenges. I'm not so arrogant to pretend this should impact where the creatives here actually take things (since I assume you have plans) but it would be really cool if the story could flesh out or explain the direction for those characters between these two eras. And again, it could also provide a spinoff opportunity for Milly and her adventures (that include the paranormal).

3 - What character has 'the revelation' ?
Easiest revelation would be Troublina and the nature of her existence (so her bad luck field). I can see two ways to go about this.

A) Honeydoll figures things out while working with her and informs her and tries to help her develop her powers about midway through the story. This goes badly with the aforementioned side effects and Troublina seeing nothing wrong with how she has always done things. By the end of the story she makes the sacrifice and manipulates the bad luck field to save the day. You could also put in an extra twist of she knowingly really manipulates the field super hard seemingly futility before succumbing to assimilation and becoming a swarm sister. Just after she is assimilated (you can put in some time so we can get some sexy swarm Troublina) suddenly all swarm sisters start having insanely bad luck all at once (because of the aforementioned emotional closeness all sharing in the same side effects). This results in the hive essentially imploding with a ton of silly bad luck and results in freeing everyone either one by one with "individual" bad luck events or all at once, whichever works better (it provides opportunity for a ton of camp while this goes down).

B) Troublina is assimilated at some point. Due to the assimilation she gains awareness of her abilities. Once she is freed she now has the abilities and starts to play with them in the epilogue a bit. Basically this would be the way if Milly is more of the main character and this is the set up for the Milly Files or whatever rather than being more about Troublina transitioning.

I like A the most (obviously) because it develops the character very similarly to Ted but does it in a completely different way (that I feel, humbly, is true to her character). It also gives a connection with Honeydoll since she so far hasn't really been connected to Milly. Milly can still be in the story, but she would be more of a side/spinoff character that saves her development for later. You know me, I love the characters so take all of what I say with that in mind because admittedly these revelations and points have zero to do with the swarm itself. (But honestly, imo, if you look at a ton of the good swarm literature the swarm is a physical manifestation of an abstract concept that is used to develop a character without having to explain all the messy emotions as much... leave that to the messy bugs instead!)

4 - How many characters do we want involved? If they aren't Finister characters we'll have to ask the other creators to use their characters. Most creators are flattered to have their characters used... but you have to know those characters and their ticks, etc.
Okay, minimal viable set of characters I see as: the original One Shot set (so Snowflake, Babydoll, Kitten, and Gridiron Girl), Troublina, and Milly. You can probably "vanish" a character or two from the One Shot set as well as add or subtract civilians. Also if you go with the Troublina and Honeydoll dynamic you can include Honeydoll as her mentor too.

Now on to the stretch goals! Yes, I'm going there. I'm completely predictable so sue me. If Dr. Fuchs could either be a cameo (or squee... even assimilated) that would be cool (like Snowflake luring her in to a trap). But I totally get it if that character is off limits. At the very least one of the teachers should probably be assimilated to pose a ramped up threat to do gooders mid way through (also provides a vector to get Honeydoll assimilated or otherwise captured/bondage). To set the story moving/get our heroes involved, Babydoll's school clique is assimilated. You could still go with Milly being able to see past however the swarm conceals themselves while they hunt but you could also have Kitten join Babydoll's clique (of now assimilated swarm sisters). Troublina, being her usual confident self, proclaims this is completely wrong and something must being going on because Kitten would never do that! No heroines believe her (well maybe Goldwing does but she immediately gets assimilated behind the scenes and is only revealed as being assimilated when Troublina and Milly go to her for help but find her being swarmy or whatnot) because stealth swarm sister Kitten explains to all the heroines how she is trying to help troubled co-eds turn over a new leaf and thinks everyone (insert long s here) ssssshould give them a chance. Boom, motivation shenanigans.

5 - Do we try to add sex/erotica to each chapter? I will defer to you hypno/MC folks on this. But if this story goes on for 10 chapters with no sexo... I'll direct reader comments to you guys - ha ha - lotza luv.
This really depends on each chapter and how long this story is but you can probably fit it pretty organically in. For the record, I count Kitten and Babydoll doing PDAs as their civilian selves (secretly swarm sisters) as erotica because it is 100% against character. I can see it ranging from that level all the way to Honeydoll being captured bondage on to full on teh sexy reward time for the swarm doing a job well done for their queen (as well as servicing their queen). Assimilation could be slightly modified to include various fetishes like lactation of conversion fluid (that also forms their carapace). A strong part of what makes this hot, imo, is a continual shifting back and forth between perceptions of reality (could vary how fast this happens so doesn't need to be a constant swapping). So there should be relatively frequent swaps between what the swarms sees and is doing (which also helps develop how the characters who were assimilated now think and the various teh sexy they are now compelled to do) and what everyone else sees (which will hit on secret exhibition kink too). The only thing I think this story will not avoid is how some critique is looking for m/f and I don't really see that fitting in this story (I mean you can include futa with the queen but that isn't the same).

6 - Will Finister make lists of everything or is this going to drive us nuts and it's better if we all just wing this story and just enjoy making it whether it connects with readers or not? Funny question, but real question :P
I think it would be rather absurd to expect the story to not change at all while it is created because unless you create it all in one go and then release it... lets just say stories take a lonnnnng time to complete on this site. So while I think having a good idea of the arc and general beats is good, ignoring brilliance when it happens would be a disservice.

And yes, I was ignoring my previous stance of Fin just write it and give us some general directions that we vote on (which still be cool if you want to do that). Basically, saw an opportunity to explore Troublina's isolation (and her potential character flaws) through the lens of a swarm hive mind (because imo Troublina's main fear is any form of conformism or collectivism... why she is infatuated with Kitten is because she seemingly is able to benefit from collectives like the squad while remaining independent and free) and I couldn't resist myself lol. Curse you, fin, for preying on my character flaw!
